Q. How many different types of Visas are there for Australia?

Q. Are all applications by Filipinos processed in Manila?

Q. What is the average processing time for a Partner Visa?
A. 50% of the cases are decided in four months, and 75% of the cases are decided in six month from the date of application. But this can vary, according to the workload of the Embassy, and the quality of the documents presented. GO DIRECT TO DON FOR MORE DETAILS.
Q. My sister in Australia says that she knows several young people on Working Holiday Visa. Is that possible?
A. There is a Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417), which allows young people, 18-30 years to have a working holiday in Australia. Unfortunately, it is restricted to holders of passports from gazetted countries such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc. And the Philippines is not included. GO DIRECT TO DON FOR MORE DETAILS.
Q. My brother in Australia has a broken arm. Can I get a Carer Visa?
A. No, not on the basis of a broken arm. The need must be long-term, assessed by Health Services Australia, you must be related to the person in need, and it must be proven that there are no relatives in Australia who could provide the care, and that existing social service cannot provide the care. Q. I have a daughter studying in Australia. Can I get a visa so that I can take care of her?

Q. Can I migrate to Australia based sporting ability?
A. The Distinguished Talent visa (subclass 124) provides for exceptionally talented people with international standing in sport, the arts, the academe, research or a profession, to migrate to Australia, provided they meet the criteria. GO DIRECT TO DON FOR MORE DETAILS.
Q. Can parents migrate to Australia?
A. Yes, parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents can be sponsored. There are two general areas, 'non-contributory, and 'contributory'. Non-contributory visas now take 17-19 YEARS, but the contributory applicants wait only 2-3 years. Applicant must first pass the balance of Family test. GO DIRECT TO DON FOR MORE DETAILS.
Q. Can I go to Australia for medical treatment?
A. Yes, provided you meet the criteria. There is a Medical Treatment Visa (Short Stay) for up to three months, and a Medical Treatment Visa (Long Stay). Both visas are for the purpose of medical treatment (except surrogate motherhood), medical consultation, organ donation and transplant, or to accompany a person involved in the above. Q. Can an orphaned relative migrate to Australia?
A. There is an Orphaned Relative visa (Subclass 117) which allows the minor and unmarried relatives of Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to migrate to Australia. Q. In a defacto spouse visa, the parties have to be cohabiting for 12 months immediately prior to application?
A. The cohabitation factor is only one of many considerations in this visa. The regulations require that the RELATIONSHIP has already existed for at least 12 months at the time of application. With regard to the COHABITATION , the regulations state the the parties should be living together, or not apart on a permanent basis. Q. I am a Filipino Citizen, in a "same sex" relationship with an Australian Citizen, Can this relationship be the basis of migration to Australia?

Q. Can errors on a Birth Certificate be corrected?
