
SKILLED-REGIONAL SPONSORED
(Provisional) VISA (475)
This visa is a three (3) year provisional visa for skilled
workers who are unable to meet the criteria for a
Skilled - Independent visa. An applicant will have
the opportunity to apply for permanent residency after
he has lived for two (2) years and worked at least 12
months in a Specified Regional Area of Australia.
This visa requires an applicant to be either:
· nominated by a participating State or Territory government agency or
· sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia.
This visa uses a points test to select visa applicants with characteristics needed in the Australian labour market.
SKILLED - SPONSORED (176)
This visa allows an applicant to migrate to Australia if he has good English language skills and have skills and qualifications in an occupation in need in Australia.
This visa uses a points test to select visa applicants with characteristics needed in the Australian labour market. He must be sponsored by a relative who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
SPORT (421)
Subclass 421 provides for the temporary entry of sports persons who currently participate at national competition level or higher.
The Sport visa is designed to improve the quality of sports in Australia through participation in high-level competition and training with Australian residents.
The categories of sports persons covered by subclass 421 are:
individuals or sporting groups (and their support staff) taking part in specific sports events or contests;
players, coaches and instructors (and their support staff) joining an Australian sports club, team or similar organization;
participants undertaking a structured sports training program in Australia;
sports instructors entering under a business arrangement with an organization in Australia (e.g. skiing, martial arts) or
show/competition judges and adjudicators.
STUDENT VISA (570)
If an applicant wants to study in Australia, he may apply for this type of visa. The Department will grant him this visa if his course of study is registered, or is part of a registered course, on a full time basis. A registered course is one offered by an Australian education provider registered with the Australian Government to offer courses to overseas students.

THREE MONTH RESIDENT RETURN (157)
This visa in intended for permanent residents or former citizens who have less than 2 years physical presence in Australia and who have not yet established substantial ties to Australia. Applicants who have held a permanent visa or Australian citizenship in the last 5 years, but who last left Australia as temporary visa holders may also be eligible for a subclass 157 visa.
