TOURIST (Short Stay) (676)
This visa allows people to visit Australia for a holiday or
recreation, or to visit family and friends. This visa may also
be used for other short-term non-work purposes including
study for less than three months.
TRANSIT (771)
Transit visas are issued to people outside Australia who intend to pass through Australia on their way to another country or to join the crew of a ship.
VISITING ACADEMIC (419)
The Visiting Academic visa is primarily intended for persons:
• who are employed as academics or researchers in tertiary or research institutions in overseas countries.
• whose primary purpose of stay is to observe or participate in research projects at the invitation of an Australian tertiary institution or research organization; and
• who will not receive any form of payment from the inviting institution, other than an allowance towards living expenses
